With CT3 systems, there is no need
to have two different software vendors supporting your Weigh Station
versus your log accounting activity. The CT3 Weigh Station module
is fully integrated with the Log Management System (LMS), and it is easy
to use. In order to minimize errors and speed up processing, an
emphasis has been placed on reducing the amount of hand entry of
data. A scanner can be used to read bar-coded Numbers on Load
Tickets. Then, by matching the Load Numbers with Ticket Book
assignments in LMS, Logger and Timber Sale information is instantly
available to print on Weight Tickets as loads pass over your weigh
scales. Gross and Tare Weights are electronically captured and
Weight Tickets are automatically printed. Weight Scale business
flows smoothly and trucks are not held up because of "system"
problems. If inconsistent data is entered, the process will not
delay truckers, but it does highlight accounting problems so they can be
resolved immediately.
The Weigh Station module is designed to electronically capture Load
Number and Weight data from an integrated (networked) Weigh Station. The data is then integrated with source
and product information in LMS. Sample Frequencies can be
established in LMS based on the source of the wood and the product (load
sort). This determines whether a particular truck load needs
to be 100% stick scaled.
Address and insurance information may be entered for each Trucker. Tare (or "empty") Weights
are stored by Truck. A Pool Size and Tare Frequency is defined for
each one. An average Tare can be calculated for a
Truck, using the existing pool of Weights. The Pool Size and
preset Tare Frequencies determine whether an Actual Tare Weight is
required for a given Truck load. If a Tare weight is required, the
weight ticket is updated when the truck comes back to the scales after
unloading.
Multiple Weight Ticket copies can
be printed with the appropriate distribution marked on each copy. Tickets clearly indicate any Scaling or Tare Weight
requirements. Weight Ticket data is edited in the Weigh Station
module. If it is complete and consistent, it can automatically be
posted to the main LMS Database for payments. However, if any
ticket information is missing or invalid, that ticket will not be posted
for payment, until any errors are corrected. This insures that LMS
volume reports and transactions are complete and accurate.
